Unfortunately, I’ve never had the pleasure of staying in a hotel for a non-related business affair.  I’ve traveled just a touch in the four years I’ve been out of college but each and every time I’ve stayed in the employer provided hotel. In Las Vegas it’s been the Rio a few times and in NY, it’s been the Hilton.   Hopefully though that’s going to change after I sign up and take advantage of what the Marriott Rewards® Credit Card has to offer.

All cardholders will earn 30,000 bonus points + two free night’s stay.  With the 30,000 bonus points, that means you’ll have enough for a four night stay (varies depending on the quality of hotel) at a Marriott hotel. As a Marriott Rewards® Credit Card member, you’ll also receive rewards points in the following increments:

  • 3 points for each dollar spent at Marriott locations
  • 1 point for each dollar spent on all other purchases

For an interesting twist, this card allows you to earn Elite status in gold and silver forms which allows you special privileges such as late checkout if you spend a certain amount on your card.  In addition, for every $3,000 you spend, you’ll receive one Elite night credit.  The more credits you earn, the more free nights you’ll receive and the closer you will get to Elite status.

The Marriott Rewards® Credit Card includes a purchase APR of 14.24%, which is a tick better than what most credit cards can provide and there is an annual fee of $45 that is kindly waived for the first year.  When you think hotels, Marriott and Hilton come to mind and if you’re a traveler who books hotels frequently, consider the Marriott Rewards® Credit Card and the 4 night free stay bonus offer.
